Bridles
Bridles are made to measure to fit miniature Shetlands to shires. This is particular useful in horses that have none standard shaped heads. Bridles can be made with any style of noseband. They can be padded on the noseband, headpiece and browband for extra comfort. Brass or stainless steel fittings can be used on bridles. Thread colour can also be chosen (see materials page). Bridlework is made with either John Whites or Sedgewicks leather depending on the finish required. Bridles, breastplates, martingales and reins are stitched ten stitches to the inch.

This bridle is made with John Whites dark Havana leather, stitched with white tiger thread. A wide plain noseband was used to suit Mo's cob face. Brass fittings were chosen to be used with this bridle. The headpiece is cut back slightly at the ears for comfort. It is fitted with laced reins and a breastplate with martingale attachment.

Pressure Halters
This Pressure Halter is made with 1" wide John Whites dark Havana leather, padded at the nose with Pittards panel hide, stitched with yellow linen thread. Solid brass fittings were used, with a swage buckle fitted. A brass chain is added under the chin. Pressure halters are a headcollar without the back. A chain or a leather strap goes under the chin, so that if the horse pulls away pressure is applied under the horses chin. This is useful in a situation where the look of a traditional leather headcollar is desired but added control is required. Pressure halters can also be fitted with additional straps to allow it to be converted to a normal headcollar.

Headcollar
This headcollar is made from 1" wide Sedgewicks Australian Nut leather stitched with black tiger thread. Padded at the poll and the nose with Pittards panel hide. It features a removable back to allow conversion to a pressure halter. Brass fittings and a swage buckle were used on this headcollar.

Headcollars may be made unpadded for a simple stable headcollar or padded at the poll and/or the nose for added comfort when the headcollar is left on for long periods or when travelling. Headcollars are fitted with brass fittings with either a swage buckle or a crown buckle. Headcollars may be rolled at the nose for a finer look or for a show halter/headcollar.
